Okay, here we go. I've promised my Dad I'll start doing something about my diet and general weight, and he will as well. He's actually fine, just not quite the Tarzan figure of previous years, and he misses that which is totally reasonable
My plan is to be mindful of carbs and fat, though I'm more worried about carbs myself. I've bought eggs to make breakfast omlettes, and to facilitate the omlettes I'm trying to get to bed in enough time to to allow me to get up and cook said breakfast. Alternatively, there's meusli, which is low fat and has mostly complex carbs, which helps.
Lunch is probably going to be bought at work, their salad bar is better than I imagined it would be, plus cheap! Beans will be included for protein, but I'll avoid the potato and pasta salads (mostly, I'm not a robot).
Dinner is to follow the simple rules of low-fat, no heavy carb sides, so chicken breasts (blech, boring) rind-off pork and lean mince are featuring, plus salads (yum) with nice low-fat dressing.
Snacks should be fruit or some tiny low-fat snack (Go Ahead don't seem to do the awesome Apple Sultana bisuits any more, which is sad); no more syruppy coffees; getting some real exercise at least once a week, possibly more (climbing Arthur's seat is favoured, might do gym stuff again too)
And, of course, I'll have to buy some scales. Wish me luck! I'll try to update my LJ with details as I go. Public exposure and the fear of judgement (tsk tsk) are good motivators. Starting weight, and my biggest shame: 252 lb (approx)
Oh god. Now you all know. I guess I'd better get a move on.
