we're going through the motions

my dear, devoted readers:
i'm terribly sorry for the lack of updates. i've been uncharacteristically busy.

yesterday was spent entirely with the one and only alex mora. i am OBSESSED WITH HER!

today i went and looked for jobs. it went badly, as expected.

so the first store i went to was nomadic notions. it turns out that it does not have regular applications. they call it a "creative application" and you have to paint or knit or sculpt something that has your resume information on it. i was planning an elaborate quilt before i remembered that i am lazy and would never finish it. so farewell, nomadic notions. you smelled too strongly of incense anyways.

moved on to "austinuts". i thought that it would be a fun place... like amy's ice cream or something. oh boy was i wrong! it was like this stately, wooden-paneled palace, staffed entirely by forty-somethings with attitudes. oh well, i was there anyways, might as well apply. "could i please get a job application?" "no, we don't have applications here. do you have a resume?" a RESUME? i muttered something noncommittal and stumbled backwards out the door. oh well, austinuts. i probably would have been made fun of if i had worked at you.

by this point, i was extremely disheartened. i headed to terra toys to hopefully be cheered up. as soon as i walked in the door, i got extremely distracted by all of marvelous toys! oh goodness, they had lego pirate ships! i was in there for about forty five minutes before i realized why i was there. and then i got embarassed because who shops for that long, then asks for a job application? so i chickened out and left. terra toys, maybe its best i didnt work at you, because i would have strangled those bratty kids. and i dont fancy becoming anyone's prison bitch anytime soon.

now i was irritated to the extreme. three places, not a single application. to console myself, i headed next door to shoe boxes, which i had never even heard of. it was way more trendy and nice than i expected. needless to say, i didn't fit in. i asked the salesgirl for an application. she rummaged around in the desk for five minutes. then she went to check in the back. total time standing there looking like an idiot: 14 minutes. but hey! i got an application! and they dont even ask your age (go to hell and die, linens n things).

but yeah. i'm going to turn that in tomorrow, because i need a job stat. or else i will have to work during the school year. bleh.

what else did i do? ah yes, i completed rikki's ultimate graduation present. it is seriously the best present i have ever made/will ever make.

and i think she's calling me right now, so i am out. everyone have a grrreat friday!
