Your revisions and ruminations on this piece were well worth it. I can't even begin to describe how strongly this snapshot resonates within me - there is so much truth in this. It's almost like a metaphor so common and overlooked that when it greets us in an eloquent text such as this we're slapped in the face by the accuracy of it all.

On another note, there seems to be a bout of contagious inertia and detachment in the air these days... Hope you enjoyed your Christmas nonetheless.

Sometimes detachment is good for you. Sometimes, it's exactly what we need. Thank you for your words. This Christmas was better than my last, I believe. I hope you enjoyed yours as well.
