And this means that everyone is busily planning the 100th anniversary party now, right? I think what they need as part of that is a couple science fiction writers talking about the future of transit ....

That would be nice, huh!

My guess is, it will be parade and speech and 5 cent rides all day...and damnit, I want to be the motorman on Car 1.

Oh, MUNI. How awesome you are. How little your awesomeness is really appreciated.

Happy Birthday MUNI!

I was looking for job stability in MUNI. I got it.

I plan to retire with MUNI...

I can only imagine what MUNI will do in 4 years to celebrate the Centennial mark among the legions of blood thirsty MUNI HATERS.

What we will do with the Muni Haters is stuff them on the Boat and drive them around the City until their faces crack and they start smiling.

Assuming Market Street Railway keeps the pressure up, MTA management won't get away with blowing off the centennial.

Rob, now I am at a point where I have little tolerance of passengers wanting to have it both ways ( ... )

"This is a bus stop, not a bus wait!"

At least most of my passengers have the excuse of being tourists and never ridden transit before. I'll admit to profiling by location and appearance...if you act like you are from, say, Idaho, and getting on at Pier 9, you are rather more likely to get a free ride than if you are boarding at 6th and Market.

In my lexicon, screaming (anything) almost always means: "I would like to wait for the next bus, thank you, sir!"...as does inhaling your cigarette strongly enough I can see the ember from 50 paces.

Hotei is pretty busy, now that so many Ebisu patrons are going across the street. The temporary Ebisu bar is there, and the noodles are excellent!

Oh! That was you? I must have been well focused on getting to sushi and beer!

Thank you, and a Happy New Year to you and yours!
