I agree with what you did. I mean, you handled it in a mature way, confronting them with the issue. I also understand where they are coming from, not wanting to change things, but they should at least admit they've made a mistake. I don't know. The fact that the second chair t-bone player at my school is third in state is just wrong. Just plain wrong.

It is not only wrong, but laughably offensive,as you will see in one of my letters when I post it.
Also, Gabe this is for you (tell me what you think)

Britta Wollard, top tuba in state (according to the corrupt ones), was the last chair in Second Honor band last year.

Yep, last chair in second honor band. She must be incredible.
I agree that the integrity of the All System has been compromised, or "down the drain" as you say. I don't think, in fact, I'll bet that they won't fix it no matter what we do. So, we just get the shaft this year. At least we did well in jazz.

Hell yea Jazz is going to be fun. We should do trade some 4's or somethin' cool like that, and Danny's 1st I think, which is wicked too.

Mr. Sanks told us today he had two piano players make jazz all-state one year- his third piano player was first, and his first piano player was second. They both wanted to switch because there was seriously a major difference in skill, and they were from the same band and all. Mr. Sanks volunteered to make the change, and was met with a resounding "NO." I'm thinking we're looking at banging our collective head against a brick wall.

So we have to make our heads harder than the wall. ;-)
