for those of you folks who have taken the GRE, what study books did you use? which ones were the best? how long did you study for? any hints? i've gotta take them this summer and i have no idea where to begin.

I used the Princeton Review "Cracking the GRE" book and liked it quite a bit. I can't remember how long I studied... long enough to work my way through all the math (that was the part I was most worried about) in the book and also did multiple practice essays. I spent some time on verbal, but not as much as I should have. No more than a few hours a week for a few months.

If you have any way of finding out which part of the score is most important to your program, that would help you focus your energies-- like if math is important and they don't care about verbal, obviously don't spend much time on the latter. Maybe start by taking a practice test and see how you do, then allocate your study time according to what you want to improve on?

Good luck!

hi, you don't know me, but i saw that under your interests you've listed geoff farina. i was just wondering if there's any chance that you might have his song, steely dan, on mp3 or some similar sendable music file... it was only released on a 7" in 1999, but i figured i'd give it a shot. if you have it, maybe you'd be willing to send me a copy? i'd really appreciate it! thanks for taking a minute to read this!!

best wishes,
anastasia
