Doesn't feel like its been a month and a half already.

Summaries then...

Elbow:
Waiting on a letter from the hospital confirming the date I should be going in for surgery to remove the wires and pins.
Should be happening sometime in December, but I don't know anything more than that.
Overall, its not too bad these days and I can actually forget that ( Read more... )

You read Retribution? I haven't yet (or Ascension, for that matter.) I have a hard time getting into Drew's writing. He's a great world builder, but sort of fails at characters and descriptions. That and I'm afraid of developing an irrational hatred of Kahlee.
There are couple of points in the novel that contradict some of the game -- for instance, I think, in the novel, Pallin id described as being alive? But in the game it's stated (in cut dialog with Sgt Haron and a still-present newscast) that Pallin died in the Battle of the Citadel and Chellick became the new executor. Haven't read it m'self, but I'm more inclined to believe that novel detail was a blooper, because I really like the idea of Chellick being executor (it was said to be a reason why CSec had loosened up a little.)

What did you think about LotSB?

Yeah. Its not my fav writing by any means (that's yours) for the reasons you mentioned. I don't think they are as bad as some of the Eric Nylund efforts in Halo though. Especially on the character front ( ... )

I don't have a real opinion on the Kahlee/Anderson thing, to be honest. I haven't read Kahlee since the first novel, but almost everyone I know hates her guts and dread the possibility of seeing her in ME3. I think it's nice that they're building relationships with other characters in the universe, though ( ... )

Sabre is the human space-fighter thing that you fly, you can probably guess why I would like it. =p

I don't think Reach is perfect by any means, and I do share many of your feelings. Too much emphasis on multiplayer and good god we have been starved of Covenant insight for far too long.
As you know, I've felt the need to start inventing things again rather then just play to established canon.
Its also strife with missed opportunities, although I did feel a bit better after watching the Bungie Commentary where they talk about how its meant to have a war documentary kind of feel, like you're an embedded reporter actually there with Noble, the security and helmet cam shots etc.

All I've been comfortable with Covenant wise since Halo 2 was Contact Harvest ( <3 ) and Halo Wars (the whole concept of Regret going behind Truth's back, trying to make his own mega fleet with his own secret Arbiter ( ... )

AH. Right. Don't you only get that for one level? It was fun, anyway ( ... )

Yeah, its only for one level, but you know me. Its a starfighter and we were seeing Seraphs and everything. Ryja would probably like the special space banshees too ( ... )
