I hadn't thought about it that way, but if they fit the trope idea then yes :)

This is probably a stupid question, but am I supposed to comment anonymously when I submit my icons? Or do I post as myself, because the posts will be screened anyways and it's ok for the mods to know which icons are mine before voting?

Not a stupid question at all! And you've actually answered it yourself. Comments are screened (for now) which means only the mods will know who entered which icons when voting goes up, so feel free to just enter then with your username.
