The Dog Ate My Kingdom A&S Homework - Literally

Mar 04, 2009 15:34

So weeks of layer upon layer upon layer of egg tempera have been lick away in a moment by my overzealous hungry dog.  Apparently his scrumptious lunch of kibble was not enough to appease him and he instead found a tasty snack of my 13th century tempera painting of the Madonna and Child.  Of all the things he has eaten, this one takes the cake.  ( Read more... )

Ah honey, I had to laugh picturing the bad dawg action. Sometimes things are totally beyond our control. If nothing else, you can always change to some single entries and still have the experience for the items you did finish.

Hugs!

Thanks, Svava is being a good laurel and pushing me to keep painting so I'm trying to to push through the pain and laughter. I had to redo the gold last night and filled in most of the big blank areas, but still no faces and hands, those are today.

Oh man... that is so terrible.. but I also started laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. Everyone will understand hon. But you *have* to take a picture of it. At least it was something you made that he ate... Rasputin ate some needle felting that Rafny made for me and that was pretty traumatic. Explaining it to her was almost more traumatic...

I did take a picture before I started to work on it again, I'll post as soon as I can find the stupid card ready, hopefully he didn't eat that too. I get really angry, but then I just start laughing because it's too funny, it's the kind of thing you just can't make up, it's so rediculous.

I can barely imagine what you must be feeling right now! Hugs to you, and hopefully no tummyache to the little guy. Maybe this , sent to me by an old friend, will give you a different perspective:

Dog is fine, vet didn't know what to think, told me to call poison control because they didn't know what any of the pigments I was saying were, but I just kept an eye on him, no upset tummy, he just hovered by my feet hoping I would drop a crumb or maybe another painting he could snack on. That video is hillarious, thanks. That so looks like Hayden who often licks the furniture. The paint eating dog was the black one Alexander, he always seems to eat the unexpected. Hayden is all furniture and grass, but Alexander is garbage paper, maple leaves and now paintings. Now I know, oil paintings they don't touch, but egg tempera paintings need to stay up away from dogs. I love the video where the dog is looking back like he's gonna get caught, that is so Alexander. Thanks.
