Oh man, you have to read this. You just have to.

Lawmaker says he shares homes with two women

This article gets weirder (read: funnier) with every passing paragraph.

And oh, the irony. She won a sexual harrassment suit against him, now she's having his baby. That's my favorite twist in the plot I think.

Yeah, good ol' John Ford. He got in trouble a few years ago for shooting at drivers that annoyed him on I-40 as he drove from Memphis to his senate office in Nashville. But the good people of Memphis just keep sending him back...

Seriously? He was shooting at people? This guy needs his own TV show.

I just did a quick search hoping to find a reputable news report of the shooting story. The best I could do was this blog page that sums up a number of his antics. About 2/3 of the way down, you will find this entry:

Ford Shoots at Trucker and gets away with it ( ... )

Wow, can Springer do a whole show on him? That would rule.

For some reason, your post reminded me of this past Friday's Houston Chronicle sports on tv column which had an item about Calvin Murphy, the former Rocket and Rocket broadcaster:

Calvin Murphy, Worrell's former broadcast partner, talked with FSN Southwest reporter Patti Smith regarding his recent acquittal on child molestation charges. The interview airs at 9 p.m. Sunday during Sports on Sunday.

"So much was said about me having 14 children," Murphy said. "A lot of people have 14 children. Unfortunately, some of them attacked me. Do I love my children? All of them. It's going to be tough to forgive some of them for what they tried to do. ... But we've got to forgive. We can't go forward unless we forgive."

Are you kidding me. I'm 45. I don't know of anyone else that has 14 children.

Maybe he meant that if you got a lot of people together, they would have 14 children between them.

My favorite part of this article is how many running subplots are going. His ex-wife, running her car through his house, now pregnant with his child. The woman who won a sexual harrassment lawsuit against him, now has his child. Oh yeah, and he fought to get this law passed so that he himself could use it. Awesome.

And if you read the other comments, you'll find out he shot at a truck driver a few years back. Just amazing.

Ford is such a great symbol of Memphis and the horrible place it has become. I am SO glad I got out. He will unfortunately have his job until he dies.

Yeah, Celine and I were talking about how all of the Fords get re-elected no matter what they do. It's really sort of sad. But at least you know who your local politicians are. I usually have no clue.
