Sasuke corrected his bandanna for the nth time that day. He hated wearing that flimsy thing but he had to. Otherwise, his long bangs would cover his eyes - it was not long enough to be tied nor short enough to let it loose.
And everybody and their grandmamma know it is not healthy to carry big, heavy boxes with your eyes covered.
Still, Sasuke didn’t want to cut it-simply because he looked like a dork with short bangs but he neither wanted to let it grow long; then he would look like his brother.
Again, everybody and their grandmamma know Sasuke hated his brother.
With. All. His. Heart.
So copying Itachi’s hair style was out of the question; he would rather commit suicide than look remotely similar to that bastard brother of his. He was unfortunate enough to have the same face as his brother, if he’d grown out his hair, he’d be his brother’s carbon copy.
That brought a very unpleasant shudder through Sasuke’s body. His brother was a sore spot for Sasuke. Nothing could rattle his nerves more than a mention of his brother’s name. everybody who knew him knew better than to do that.
It was sad really, for brothers to act towards each other like this when once upon a time, they were very close. In fact, in Sasuke’s family of four (his father, mother, his brother and him) the closest person to him was his brother.
The large age gap between them didn’t change anything. Itachi had always been there for him; as a big brother and as a very close friend.
Thus, it came as a big blow to Sasuke when he found out that his family’s death was the result from Itachi’s connection to the mafia. He was dead sure his family was killed in a road accident when he was fifteen years old. Apparently, he was wrong and he just found about the secret in his last year of university.
Also, it didn’t help when his parents died, Itachi turned a cold shoulder towards him. He was sent to boarding school without his consent and could only get out of there after he finished high school. Then, after that, he was forced to take Law in university. Otherwise, his brother wouldn’t support him and since he had not reached eighteen yet, his brother’s words were laws themselves.
Luckily, Sasuke’s aim was to be a lawyer. Their family came from a long line of successful lawyers; he didn’t want to be left out. Itachi was a successful lawyer himself and since their parents’ deaths, he was the one who took over the company.
