Every day when I get out of work, it's too dark for me to wander around and take pictures of my neighborhood, so that will have to wait until this weekend. These are pictures I took my first day here, before I even met Barras (the roommate). When you all start insisting on photos, I feel obligated to provide. This is what obligation does, people.

Alright, I already am envious of your environment - inside and outside. You got a balconey. Love the flooring in your bedroom. Looks like your roomey is a tidy soul. How fortunate for you! Hope you get more beautiful vistas of Alps while you're there. How's your French coming along. Still frightfully American? I know Europeans are very tolerant and helpful but gosh we're just going to have to do more than elect Barack Obama to show we are in earnest about working with them! Actually, they're pretty pleased with Obama. We've been so effing awful that they probably give us more credit on that than we deserve. I think we have at least a few months to coast before they start wanting more.
