...but Jess wanted to make sure that I was clear on this: hers is a nation of convicts, not criminals. There is a difference. Crucial cultural knowledge, since Australia Day is coming up and I want to get my facts straight before I spend the weekend celebrating it.

Let us be truly transparent. Our country is still one of criminals while Australia has evolved by making good use of the skill sets brought to their shores. Hats off to the Aussies and Kiwis. We love 'em. Take care and celebrate the evolution of nations. Perhaps, with our stumbling block out of the way, we too can progress to that happy place of civility, community and equality.
