Chuck wrote about eliminating facebook friends and how cathartic that can be. While I agree wholeheartedly that a good facebook cull can be refreshing, there are certain facefriends that I keep on my friends list merely for entertainment and the feeling of smug superiority I get when I read their insipid status updates. what you say is true. some friends lead such pitiful lives that i look forward to their status updates to help me appreciate how i'm not such a sad ass sack of shit.

the only ones i'm in favor of culling are the one who are annoying and *not* pitiful. pity is enough for me to remain their facebook friend.

Like my favorite stripper opined, "Strippers are like everybody else, just better looking."

I tend to agree. Although, nice girls work the carriage trade, while strippers work the wholesale market. You decide which is more honest or ethical.

It is not healthy to make yourself feel good by seeing your peers suffer. If you want to see a suffering human, look in the mirror.
