Way to take my heart right out of my chest. Wow. Just wow. All breathless and scary and psychological and beautiful and intimate and amazing and terrifying and real and wow.

Thank you so much. :) I had a lot of fun with the psychological part of this chapter.

You know, I've been reading this for a while and realized I never commented on this.

I found this to be absolutely fascinating. I used to watch ER and I absolutely adore the X-Men movies, so this is a lovely crossover.

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you so much! It's great to get a review by somebody new. :) I'm having so much fun with this fic, but for a while there, I was convinced nobody would read it because the fandom combination is so obscure. I don't think there's even still such a thing as an ER fandom.

Wow. This one actually left me speechless. I had to go wash some dishes while I thought of a review.

This chapter was excellent. You built on the foreshadowing from the earlier chaps and confirmed my worst fears about Ray's past. I just feel for Ray so much right now. Somehow, the saddest part for me was when he used the phrase "not abusive" in the same paragraph as "he beat me up, of course." Maybe because it's not just sad but tragically typical.

I'm hoping to finish this fic very soon; it'll all depend on how much I can procrastinate this weekend.

Thank you so much. :) Needless to say, this was easily the hardest chapter to get right.

I'm happy that you picked up on that line by Ray, because yeah, that's what I meant to do. I also think that Ray minimizes the abuse he received before the power incident, so that the death of his father will make him look even worse. Fortunately though, Neela really has plenty of experience with these mechanisms from the ER. Especially since a surgeon is only consulted in the worst cases.

Well, I hope you'll get plenty of time to procrastinate then. ;) It sounds like you deserve it, too!
