Left on Clarice's doorstep is a brown paper package, labeled "To Clarice, From Troy". It contains a purple
iPod and a note. The note reads:
"Dear Clarice,
I wanted to get you something for the first day of school. This iPod has some of your favorite songs on it-I know because I asked around. Plus, there's one song on there that I know we both love. I figured out how to record 'Being Alive' for you, because it makes me think of the day we met. I'm so glad we met, Clarice. Have a good day. I'll be thinking of you.
Yours,
Troy"
