I have posted in a number of journals that I would take interviews, and I am about to answer each and every one I can… However, if I miss one, then please repost your questions in my journals and I will answer them.  I’ll get back to my world of updates after this set of posts.

  1. Long distance relationships can suck a lot... how do you handle it?
  2. What are you doing for work these days?
  3. Why Jazzfish? After all, how many fishes are in this pond?
  4. What do you miss most about the college days... the least?
  5. What 6 people (from any point in history when they were living...including currently) should play a game of "Dumb-Ass Russian Roulette?" (This game uses a fully loaded clip)

1) Long distance relationships can suck a lot... how do you handle it?

Well, the flip answer would be "Poorly." Mostly, with daily email (even if it's just "hey"), chat in the evenings, and the occasional phone call. Plus visits every 3-4 months. Absent those I've not really developed a coping strategy, beyond the old standby of withdraw/seal-off/breakdown.

2) What are you doing for work these days?

Tech writing for a medium-sized software company. Today that involves explaining to an Indian subcontractor how to do the gruntwork of testing each procedure in an on-line help module, making sure the interface I wrote about last month hasn't been changed since then, correcting screenshots of a completely different interface, sitting on the phone with Adobe tech support, and maybe doing some actual writing later this afternoon.

3) Why Jazzfish? After all, how many fishes are in this pond?

In summer 1996, scathach introduced me to Jazz Fish Zen, a hypercolor fable about a piscean saxophonist. That same summer I needed a non-VT email account. " ( ... )

Interview me.
Do I get to ask you questions, too?

How do you feel about tofu? and related: what do I eat that you think is just the yukkiest thing ever (or top three)?

Okay... let's give you some toughies...
  1. Other than the most obvious, what are some of the biggest issues that you've had to come to terms with after the accident...that can be directly related to the accident?"
  2. How do you usually talk to yourself? What do you say when you do?
  3. What is your personal motto? What does it mean to you?
  4. What is the one thing in your life that you wish you had done differently... where would that put you now?
  5. What do people typically ask you for help in?

I'll do my best... let's see.
  1. Being that you're supposed to be dead and extinct... how do you really feel about all these plush homages to your image?
  2. Do you really feel that your decaying corpse and ensuing conversion process is really worth me having to pay over $4/gallon?
  3. What was your personal hero?
  4. Do the Geico commercials give a true representation of the humans you were used to?
  5. Would you rather be able to breathe fire, eat meat, or fly?
