What a lovely act of kindness! FWIW, I got rid of Vista the second I bought my laptop, as I had the exact same probloems you allude to here.

In my purse I have my wallet, keys, tmobile sidekick, work key-card, a pen, 2 shades of lip gloss, sunglasses, a pack of playing cards, a medicine bottle, listorine breath strips, and some receipts. Who am I?

Hmm...I have blue tape, utility knife, mace, old receipts, plastic bag of quarters, eye drops, antibiotic ointment, a hair brush, and measuring tape in my purse. There may be more that I've forgotten about...

About the other half of your post; Firefox is a good browser. :)

wow...thats nutty.

i was shopping for a new computer for a friend, and found it surprisingly difficult to avoid purchasing a model WITHOUT vista being pre-installed!
