Recovery

Any going home recovery tips from fellow c-section mamas? Ugh. I was overly confident and pain free the other day all hooked up to the IV epidural. Umm now that I'm on the Motrin, yeah this pretty much sucks! Just dawning on me the clothes I packed to go home in won't quite work... Maternity yoga pants and semi-cute nursing tee, fitted with ruched ( Read more... )

He is so cute!! Seriously!

I had a very similar c-section story with Max and I remember needing to take my meds regularly and pretty much nothing else from that time. I do know that on the days I did too much I really felt it in my incision.

I hope it goes smoothly!

definitely keep on top of your pain meds these first 2 weeks.

yes, you do want to keep your exertion down but also remember that moving will help you heal faster - just don't overdo it :) I wore those foldover yoga pants (with the binder underneath) almost exclusively (my kids were born in freezing late fall and dresses were not an option at all!)

keep yourself plenty hydrated, and definitely ask for help when you need it. hugs and lots of us can empathize! we're here if you need to vent or cry or anything!

Man, I don't even remember what I wore home. Some very loose pajama pants, probably.

Love that baby! So sweet!

Definitely wear whatever feels comfortable to you - maternity wear, crappy pajamas, whatever. The hardest thing for me at first was getting out of bed or up from a couch. You basically cannot use your abdominal muscles at all so I managed a new technique that I'd roll to my side and have to prop my weight up with my arms and hands while resting on the elbows. That probably sounds weird but it was just what worked for me. Just take it very easy for as long as you need to. It really took me a while to recover but each day you will feel so much better! I never had a binder. I think maybe I wish I had!

He is really so cute and alert already!!!
