somethings been bugging me since our debate today in english.... since when has a human life or a few of them been more important than the overall common good? why do people freak out when we sacrifice lives of humans that have destroyed others? i dont see the point, but maybe im just less sympathetic to those who deserve what they get. if someone ( Read more... )

...alright, well I understand what ur saying but when we sacrifice lives of other humans who destroy/hurt others its pretty much being a hypocrite. So we are punishing them for killing someone, so we kill them? Does that sounds right? Its like taking whats wrong and doing it over. Wouldnt u think that instead of taking their life and killing them fast and getting it over with, it would be worse to let them live life in prison, and know they will never have a life outside of that cage. But maybe it is because im more sympathetic in this case, I just dont see the goodness in killing another life. BUT.. I would agree with sarcrificing their lives if who they killed was my mom,dad, or sister. But i guess thats how it would be in everyones case...

lol, well in my eyes, being hypocritical is worth it if we need to prove a point. but ya, im not sympathetic at all in this instance

i agree with you spencer...i think that if someone does murder someone they deserve to die..it is better than us as taxpayers to pay for them to live when they dont deserve to

I think that the death penalty is a just cause. I believe that sometimes to make people understand how wrong it is to kill another, we have to make an example of them. Until people stop killing we have to punish them. There are many reasons why letting these killers and rapists stay in prison for the rest of their life. 1. Its not cost effictive, our hard earned tax dollars goes to funding their television and food. 2. Many of the people who do commit these terrible crimes dont believe they did anything wrong and have no remorse. 3. The poor families that had this done to their loved one, has to know that their sister, daughter, brother, son, husband, wife, whatever was killed unjustly and these bad people get to live the rest of their life, not saying ti would be a great time but at least they have more time on earth. I have no compassion for these kinds of people they have no reason to be infecting out streets. they all deserve to die. (if they have killed)
