What does one do when a young lady tries to receive extra credit in a most promiscuous way?  Many options, but so few of them lead to anything progressive.  I am open to suggestions, as I trust the judgments of others are more perceptive than my own.

You are exceptionally lovely this evening.  As you are everyday.

You let me talk to her.

Why thank you, that was quite nice of you to say so.

I'm working on accepting compliments with more ease. How did I do?

I'm afraid you'll scare her into pieces.

That would not be the best idea, dear.

And quite nice of you to listen.

I can't say, as I've never had difficulty accepting them. How would you rate yourself, dear?

I think it would be a perfectly fine idea, actually.

I'm not sure, really. It's been quite some time since I've responded to true comment. I thought you would be the best judge of my reaction, because you receive them so well. You are such a good judge of things. It's one of your many talents.

Why do you think that?

I deem your reaction to be most appropriate then. But with me, dear, you don't need to be so formal about it. It's equally nice just to see you smile once so often.

The poor girl seems to only want her grade, I'm afraid I can't find any appropriate distractions.

Is that the play these days? I best buy a voice recorder one of these days.

I always provide alternatives, but she prefers the easier way out I'm afraid.

Do not worry dear, all she has is a C. I suppose the poor girl would do anything for a B with no real work.

Oh my! That... oh! That sounds very much awkward.

It amuses me slightly, and I pray it doesn't get too serious.

Amuses you? What...if um... she really does feel something for you? That... is not amusing for anyone. I'd feel sorry for her.

I would agree with you there. But I'm afraid she has no real feelings for me, dear.

It's nothing to worry yourself over. Someone wants extra credit, you see.

Just a mild case of teenage eagerness is all, dear.
