The 7 Quirky Things About Me meme

Jan 09, 2010 13:47

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it."

Gawd, I hate trying to dredge up things of interest about myself; I'm really very dull. But thanks, dawnebeth , for the tag, and here goes nothing...

the dirty details )

Hee... I think hubby still has a few copies of the magazine somewhere; if I ever unearth them, I'll post the wretched thing :D

(I nearly grabbed the LoM photo like yours today from which to make an icon. That's uncanny. I'm working on a different one in blue...)

I find it hard to believe that you're shy 'cause I've seen you talking it up at cons, but then I consider myself shy, too.

Just the fact that you were born in England makes you interesting to moi.

I said bupkis when pulled into a panel, though, and just kept my fingers crossed that no one would notice me.

I must confess, I get an awful lot of mileage out of the English accent XD

reading yours in case we overlap!

travel sickness remedies. my mum swore by a spoonful of glucose dissolved in water....she used to mark the Tupperware boxes with what was in them (using her nail varnish) Problem - you couldn't remove the NV without damaging the Tupperware. And she didn't always stick to what the 'labels said'. One day I took a spoonful and dropped it in a glass of water and started to drink it down and gagged on a glass of ground almonds and water...at least I had nothing left to throw up in the car

PS - she sold Tupperware in the early 1960s ad I'm still using some of her demonstration kit!

Tupperware will be around even after the rats and roaches have become extinct; I swear that stuff is indestructible!

you are NOT boring. Oh, and also I still get sick easily when traveling. Um, sometimes at the library I get dizzy because the stacks are going by so fast. How embarrassing.

I think part of the problem was that the family car would be locked up unused for weeks on end, so the smell of my dad's cigarettes and Brylcream had a long time to percolate between trips. Turns my stomach just to remember the sickly stink.

warm apples in cars - after an apple rolled under a seat and was 'lost' while touring Normandy when I was 6.

New Citroens used to have a distinctive smell not unlike fresh biscuits (or cookies to those west of the pond) that was a sure trigger too!

Now, warm apples I wouldn't have had an issue with. However, my two sisters were also persistent puking travelers; looking back, I pity my poor parents. No wonder we seldom went anywhere!
