I'll spare you all the reasons why my patience is routinely worn thin at work and show you the reason why I sometimes love it. Out of the three labs that I've worked at this is the only one where they went to some trouble to make sure that nearly every department has a beautiful view.
I am a lowly lab assistant and I have this view:
I know! ::high fives::
It's just a little man-made pond but it's full of koi, turtles and bull frogs that love to sing. It also attracts ducks, deer, raccoons and lately, turkey vultures (!). Today a huge bird flew by my window, all long legs and wide wingspan. For a wild moment I thought it was something prehistoric. Global warming??? My co-worker, Julie was quick on her feet and got this picture of a not-camera-shy-at-all great blue heron:
It's hard to tell with him standing in the water but we figured he was just under 4 feet tall. When he left he flew by my window again. It took me a while to get back to work.
