At the opposite corner of the bar from Charles, Raven is very focused on this new guy who approached her. Tall, blonde and devilishly handsome, she's attracted, yes, but more appeasing his interest in her by accepting his drink. He smiles, she smiles back. It's the polite thing to do, right? Of course, this is only slightly payback for Charles' attempts to hook up with the British co-eds. Not that she's thinking about Charles right now... well, maybe a little.
Right. Focus. This guy is really sexy and soooo into you. She flashes him a smile. His name was John, right? It didn't matter, really. She takes a sip of the drink and tries not to make a face. Way too sweet for her taste. Then again, poor John had the disadvantage of not being able to read minds.

It was odd to see Raven flirting with other men, most of the time she preferred to be the quiet wallflower who tried her best not to be noticed but she was getting a lot of attention tonight and to be truthful Charles found it a little disconcerting.
He knew that this was a good thing; if Raven was out meeting new people then it would give him time to enjoy his own romantic endeavours but he couldn't help but feel a little jealous that she was off with someone else.
He shook his head and ordered another drink, it would help him ponder what to do about the situation.
The guy took a step closer to Raven, and she took a half-step away. She played like she was being coy. The heavily-lidded eyes, the slightly parted lips, but really she just wasn't into the overpowering stench of his bar-breath. She set her glass on the counter and pushed herself up onto one of the bar stools, her eyes never leaving the man's face. He was talking about something random. Sports? Keg stands, perhaps? Maybe he was asking her if she saw his only minutes ago. She did. Unimpressed, as of yet.
Her eyes flashed briefly across the bar to her brother. She could feel him watching her, and maybe that was part of the reason she was so off her game tonight. It's not like being social was her thing anyway. She finished the rest of the drink and smacked her lips, noting with slight irritation that the man before her was now brushing her knee with his thigh.
It wasn't long after that that Charles was out of his seat and over there putting himself between Raven and her new acquaintance. "Raven it's late, are you looking to come home with me or catch a ride with your new friend?"
Yeah he didn't like that guy at all, he certainly wasn't good enough for his Raven. Not that she was his but well...Actually he thought it better not to ponder on that right now.
