Her day at work was pretty much as bad as Tonks expected it to be, and she was intensely relieved to be coming home - at least she had something to look forward to, now, which she hadn't had in a very long time.

"Remus, I'm -" She stopped when she saw the setup, and smiled a little. "A girl could get used to this kind of treatment," she pointed out to the flat at large, since she wasn't sure exactly where he was.

Remus was, not surprisingly, reading a book when he heard the door open. He hurriedly reshelved it and moved in the direction of her voice.

He greeted her with a kiss, but frowned slightly when he moved back a little to caress her cheek. Though she was smiling at him she couldn't quite hide the expression in her eyes. "You look tired, love."

"I have a very tiring job," Tonks replied truthfully. "It's good to come home and relax, though."

"I wish it could be easier for you." He caressed her cheek softly, his thumbs soothing the skin under her eyes as if he could erase the signs of exhaustion found there.

"Come sit by the fire. You don't have to do anything tonight but relax."
