Reclaiming myself

Ever feel like you've completely let yourself go ? Like.. I feel that I'm not the same person as I once was. And I understand that it's important to like mature and grow from experiences. The old wisdom about turning something you love into an occupation ruins the fun of it is true, psychologically. I'll abstain from a lecture, but the fact that you're looking to art as a career suggests that the intrinsic reward and love for the art will likely diminish. The coursework and career aspects probably will outweigh the intrinsic enjoyment, and that's possibly what you're experiencing.

No, I'm not choosing art as a career. I'm choosing education as a career. Which is something I do love to do from experiance. It's the classes that are burning me down.

It's not an absolute given...I adore bread and baking and I do it every single day. The excitement level waxes and wanes a bit, but it's still there. Just don't let the job beat you down, and it can stick around :-D
