Why oh why oh why ohhhh did I ever leave Ohio?

Well, it doesn't look like Jim is going to be working at Intrapromote anytime soon. He initially sent them his resume because they are in the top 5 rated SEO companies in the world and they happened to be in Hudson. In December he got an email from someone who worked at Intrapromotes sister company and they set up an interview. The point of working ( Read more... )

I would hang out more if I could afford to drive and afford to have lunch, etc :(

I hope Jim is able to find a better job, and me too. It's still so hard.. I just went to a wedding seminar for vendors and the guy who was running it said the recession will go down in mid 2012.. where is he getting this information? Sigh.. silly optimists

I know, the recession has really taken its toll on my friend proximity. Matt had to move back to Vermont because of money. And now you're all strapped for cash. I bet it won't be too much longer before you find a job though.

I've been feeling better lately so if you are ever in the area let me know. We don't have to have lunch we could just hang out on the porch or something. Or play fetch with Claudia.

I forgot to mention that last night Jim asked me how I'd feel about him working at a porn company! But it turns out it's not really a porn company, it's called Webquest and they do marketing and SEO, it just so happens that all their biggest clients are porn sites. But, it's in Westlake, and we looked it up on Googlemaps and Westlake is right by your street! I don't think we'd be moving there though. Maybe you and Jim could have lunch! I am hoping he gets the other job though at The Search Agency because it's in LA.

If he lived LA and commuted to Westlake it wouldn't be as bad trafficwise as they other way around right?

I don't hear from Matt very much. He is bored but doing ok. He got a job serving at Olive Garden which means after he works there a year he can transfer to one out here and he'll finally have a LA waiting job. I think a year is up in August. Can't wait to give him all his stuff back!

I hope I can look at cute apartments with you!

Jim says he doesn't remember Claudia acting differently, and I wasn't home yet. But Jim wasn't home much either. I remember thinking she was acting a little different but I don't remember how. That's so cute about Ringo!

Claudia has been really missing that sweater dress! She keeps trying to find new places to sleep but nothing compares. I can't wait to see her when she gets it back :)

Sucks about the job letdown...even if you both weren't sure about leaving LA, it's still discouraging. I'd imagine even moreso when it was a fuckup on the company's part. Not the way to convince Jim to keep his chin up with the job search ( ... )

Oh no, it doesn't sound pleasant to be applying to jobs you don't want due to habit. Still, it's a habit I hope Jim can get into...

I didn't know you were interviewing with a law firm. Last I remember was The Cleveland Clinic.

I should know SAD is very real. But now that you mention it there was a lot of sun when I was home. I guess I just didn't notice it because the sky wasn't blue. And I wasn't driving. That's when you really notice the sun.

Well I've been applying everywhere I can (hence applying to some out of habit). Applying LA taught me it's merely a numbers game. And a lot of the jobs don't interest me, but I convince myself that getting paid and additional resume experience is worth it. But yeah, I've been interviewing the most with this law firm downtown, throughout the past 3 weeks (with another interview tomorrow). But it's a marketing administrative position for the firm, not like I'd be offering up legal advice to clients. But still, I've never heard of interviewing so much for a $15/hour assistant position.

Yeah it was fairly sunny, and between Vermilion, Hudson and Lakewood, I'm in my car a lot (where the sun glasses come out). I would much rather have cold and sunny than warmer and gray (like this week. Boo).
