General Rules
* All players must be 16 years of age or older.
* All journals must have a disclaimer posted on their user info and have a link to the community.
* Players must do their very best to keep in-character drama in character; this is an RP and is intended to be fun for the players.
* It is not required that players lock their characters' entries. However, if they choose to leave their entries public, players must change the journals' settings so that only users on their friends list may comment. This is done through the account's privacy settings.
* Players who wish to write something that will have a significant effect on any other character(s) must never do so without having the consent of all other players concerned.
* This RPG is canon through the entire first season of Glee, and though it has tried to stick closely to the canon of season two, there have been some deviations. If the changes that a player has made will have an influence on other characters, please post an explanation to
truecolors_ooc. These entries should be tagged as !altered canon, to make them easily accessible to new members.
* Exaggeration for comedic purposes is common in Glee, but we ask that all players keep the events of the game realistic. It's okay to push some boundaries, but anything that might be considered too intense, ridiculous or inappropriate must be discussed with a mod before it can potentially be put into action.
ACTIVITY EXPECTATIONS
Players are not required to update their character's journal more often than they wish, but they are required to reply within a week to journal comments, emails, texts, or phone calls, and to in-person threads within two weeks. This includes comments both on their own character's journal as well as on other characters'.
If a player knows that they are going to be busy or away for more than a week, they are expected to post an activity or hiatus notice to
truecolors_ooc in order to notify the mods along with the rest of the community. Details on the reason for their absence are not required but may be given at the player's discretion.
In the event that a player wishes to drop their character(s), we ask that they please let us know (preferably by emailing us at truecolors.mod@gmail.com) instead of just abandoning their character(s) and the game.
POSTING GUIDELINES
Journal entries may be written in any style that you see fit for your character, but all threads are to be written in third person, and may be done in either present or past tense. However, all participants of a thread must be writing in the same tense. Although we cannot ask for perfection, we do ask that you make an effort to write correctly so that everything is understandable and pleasant to read. If bad spelling and/or grammar fits your character, it is permitted in his or her entries and comments, but not when writing in third person.
It is preferred that "private" entries be made visible to the other players in the community - this can be done by adding some variation of [Private] or [Private to (specific other character(s)] to the beginning of the post or comment, and adding [/private] or [end private] to the end of it. If your character is not listed, he or she cannot read the text. Making these posts viewable to other players helps to keep everyone informed of the plots that are happening and assures that the mods won't overlook a player's activity.
Outside of a "private" entry or comment, if something is stricken out like this, it is still able to be read by characters; if it is stricken out like this, however, it means that the character made a decision to erase or delete part of their writing and only the other players can read it.
Back-dating
Back-dating is permitted, although we prefer that players don't go further than the summer before the second season began. However, these entries will not show up on any characters' friend's lists. For this reason, we ask that, after making a back-dated entry, players post a link to
truecolors_ooc (using the tag "!back-dated"). If someone intends to make multiple back-dated entries in a short period of time (one or two days), they may wait until all of the entries are posted and place the links in one post.
When commenting on a pre-existing or backdated entry as if the comment wasn't late, remember to put the date or something like "two days later" in the subject line, so as to indicate that the real date of your comment should be ignored.

When posting to
truecolors_rp, please tag your entries. All character and mention tags are activated when the character in question is accepted into the game, making them accessible to non-mods. It makes our job so much easier if we don't have to go behind everyone and tag their threads for them. Every entry should be tagged as either "!im," "!phone call," "!text," "!email" or "!thread," along with "character: (character name)" (without brackets) for all characters who are in the scene. Characters who are mentioned should be tagged in a similar fashion ["mention: (character name)"], and a rating of either SFW or NSFW should also be added. Any entry posted to
truecolors_rp with a rating of "NSFW" must be locked as members only. A list of the tags can be found
here.
You are not required to post any or all in-character IM conversations to the community, but you are more than welcome to do so if you'd like.
