"Are you seriously going to sing?"
Finn looked up. He frowned at the Drama Club student and shrugged his shoulders. "It's no big deal, I mean, Kurt told me about musicals and Rachel explained it for me."
The kid folded his arms, arched his brow and shook his head. "I don't know these people, dude. I'm a freshmen."
"Oh," Finn said flatly. He grabbed the cash from his jeans pocket and handed the twenty to the kid. "I just need to work something out in my head. I've dated this girl for a while... and she's got me into singing and it's gotten to the point where singing helps me think."
"You just gave me a fist full of ones. What are you? Cheap?" The kid snorted. He counted the ones out and then pocketed the cash before looking back at the entrance doors. "Ok, the stage is supposed to be off-limits for you Glee freaks because we're working on a musical this year. If Mr. Schu isn't here with you, then you're on your own."
"We're not freaks." Finn frowned.
"Dude, Glee is on the bottom of the social ladder. I have more credit on the social ladder then you do." The kid snorted at him again. The kid laughing at him all the time was starting to get on his nerves. "If you get caught by one of the teachers or another student that knows the off-limits thing?"
"I don't know you, I've seen the movie." Finn muttered. He couldn't remember if the guy had told him his name but he didn't remember it. He watched the kid nod and take off backstage. Finn was suddenly nervous. He felt like he did one stage during Nationals, faced with Rachel. Charged with electricity, but unlike Nationals Rachel wasn't there with him and he couldn't just kiss her and pour his feelings, his fears into the kiss. It had felt like a kiss that ended all the others.
He shook his arms and ran in place for a second before taking a few deep breaths and turning on the stereo and took his place in the middle of the stage and closed his eyes. He focused on the choices ahead of him. Moving to New York with Rachel and being with her. He took one last breath and started to sing with all his heart.
