My lady, my most sincerest apologies, I have failed you. The strength of Figaro's oni was too much for us to defeat.

...Tch. One would think the famed Fire Lord's intelligence more capable.

We nearly lost our lives, Ramza. T'was not we who failed.

I still feel we could have done more, fought harder. Despite the strength we now have, there is much more for us to learn.

...I fear for Teta, Ramza. To be at Azula's side when she hears of this news...

You worry overmuch, Delita. Azula would not harm Teta over something such as this.

No, her displeasure will fall 'pon my own head, and it is something I gladly accept.

At once, milady.

I commenced the attack with a tank bombardment and an infantry charge, which tripped land mines the king of Figaro had set to deter our troops. Halting the infantry charge, I led a cavalry charge to break through the mines and minimize damage from the mines to our core units while the tanks were brought forward to counter the cannons on the castle walls.

However, as we attacked, the enemy line broke and we were attacked by a young girl with an enormous oni companion. He was terrifyingly strong, I ordered the withdraw there while Delita and I held him off. At that point, I prioritized saving our army over trying to break through the Oni and whatever else Figaro had in store for us. I felt that were we to press on, the battle would have ended with great loss for our clan.

Are you telling me my entire army was deterred by a single Youkai? The mightiest army on the continent defeated by a single ignorant, savage sub-human?

Do I understand correctly?

Not merely a single oni, my lady. While we may have certainly overwhelmed him, I judged the costs would be too great to continue, considering Figaro's bombardments and traps, not to mention their standing army. The losses would have been too great for us to overwhelm the castle, and we would have not just lost a battle, but an entire army as well.
