[Int. Mars Apartment]
[Veronica is dressed in her Java the Hut work vest and holding a large sheet of paper (photo? document? It is blank on the back but looks to be larger than 8x11). She is on the phone and kind of smiles.]
Veronica: You've got a call.
[Keith looks up in surprise from where he is reading a book in the blue-and-white striped chair. Veronica holds out the phone to him and wiggles it teasingly.]
Veronica cont. : From Vinnie Van Lowe.
[Cut to Vinnie at a different location.]
Vinnie: So... 'Course you know about the bounty on this Goodman guy.
Keith: I'm aware of it, yes.
Vinnie: 20 Gs. That's big boy money. Gonna be a lot of top guys out there for it. I had a thought. We team up: Mars and Van Lowe, pool our resources, split the cash.
Keith: Sheriff got you on video breaking in to Woody's house.
[Vinnie gestures 'come closer' with his fingers and moves nearer to Keith. We now see that they are separated by bars. Vinnie has been arrested.]
Vinnie: But Johnny law don't know what I got.
Keith: What'd'ya got?
Vinnie: All his records: Tax, medical, corporate, the whole enchilada. We nail him we split 60-40. I'm the 60, by the way.
Keith: 50-50, if the stuff you've got pans out, and no action until after my daughter's graduation.
Vinnie: I'm in jail. I deserve 60!
[Keith raises his hand and rubs his thumb and pointer finger together.]
Vinnie: I risk my life to bring a fugitive to justice and you're giving me 'world's tiniest violin.'
Keith: Guess I'm just heartless.
[Transition to Int. Mars Investigations. Keith in same outfit, Veronica with her hair in a messy bun and pajamas (?). The desk is covered with papers.]
Veronica: He's got like ten credit cards in different corporate names. We're gonna have to put a trace on all of them. And he has a pilot's license.
Keith: Seasonal al- [clip cuts off.]
