Anyone have a clue why my laptop refuses to recognize and play the Rocky DVD?

It seems to be perfectly fine when I put in other DVDs -- just hates the Rocky one :(

You could have a DVD player with new and improved Suck-o-Meter (tm) that refuses to play bad movies.

Try putting in Godzilla. If it doesn't play, then you have your answer.

I am here to help.

What program are you trying to use? There's a program built into the disk that may be trying to run. You can try holding down shift while you put the disk in - keep holding it down for a good 20-30 seconds after you put it in - that will kill any auto-run programs that are on it. Then try opening it with your dvd player program.

Tried Windows Media Player and every other program I could find on the computer. Really weird thing is that Windows Media player says that there is no disk in the drive. When I double click the drive in the "My Computer" menu it opens but doesn't have any files in it.

Stupid question, is this a commercial disc (the actual DVD) or is it a copy onto a DVD-R for archival purposes to protect against damage of the original disc.
