Free email forwarding?

Jun 21, 2009 00:44

Anyone know of a free email account service OTHER THAN GMAIL which offers auto-forwarding to another email account for free?

I've tried aim, hotmail, and yahoo and all of those either don't offer the auto-forward or want to charge me for an upgraded email account to do it.

Trying to figure a way around this whole list/gmail problem.

First, an easy solution would be to shut down the list and just create a Yahoo Groups mailing list. It has all the features: Private access, choosing moderators to accept or turn down requests to join, the options of individual emails for each post versus one daily compilation email... I'm not sure why we need to keep running our mailing list out of a basement, even if we do want to keep the web site that way.

Second, if there's enough interest, I (or you or anyone) could register a domain name for ten bucks a year, because a lot of places will give you free email forwarding with the domain registration. Such as Namecheap.com, which is where I registered my football page. $9.69 for the domain and they'll spam-filter and forward mail addressed to anynumberofmailboxesyouwant@yourdomain.com .

I guess there's no reason why we couldn't set up the same thing at fullbodycast.org in the first place....

This assumes that someone is going to actually take the initiative and do something about it. Unfortunately, none of the powers that be have gmail, so they have no reason to give a damn. It's been months now and no one has even suggested solutions, so at this point I'm just trying to figure out a way to get the list without having to send it to another non-gmail account entirely.

Yahoo group sounds like a good solution to me. The trick is to actually make it happen.
