I have managed 24 solid hours of familial bliss... so far there's just enough hot buttered rum and bloody marys distributed at just the right time in just the right amounts to give everybody holiday cheer.
Off to Fort Myers. Let's see if the pattern will hold.

So you wanna share your recipie for hot buttered rum?

In a mixer add 2 cups butter (softened), 16 oz light brown sugar and 16 oz powdered sugar. Mix well.
Add 1 quart vanilla ice cream (softened) and mix well. Scoop mixture into a freezer safe container.
To make the drink:
Scoop 3 tablespoons of mixture into a mug, add 1 jigger of rum (or to taste) and cover with 5 oz. of boiling water (or enough to fill the mug). Stir well, top with whipped cream.
Get wasted!
I have a vat of this at home, I'm brining it to New Years Eve if nobody objects.
