My condolances on your loss, Little Bird. I know that even though we expect these things sometimes, it just isn't easy. I've been there. You may not have known this, but my grandmother's name was also Marion. If you need anything...

Thanks Big Bird. I didn't know our Grandma's had the same name. I'll think I may be needing some New World when I get back. :)

Sorry to hear that, chica. And mine made a mean peanut butter fudge as well - I'm concerned that the art may be lost as we all collectively lose our Grandmothers - we need a peanut butter fudge institute or something. As you might know, my Grandfather died while L and I were on holiday back home this past March. Morbidly good timing for us really, as I don't quite know how we would have been able to fly back for the thing, which actually was nice, catching up with cousins and all (and scary at times too). So I got one grandparent each left now (on each side) - though as I live 5000 miles away, it's always a concern of seeing them while I'm back (and still have the chance). Anyways, our condolences - and be careful in Pittsburg - y'know, Terrible Towels, Terry Bradshaw's haircut, sharp bits of steel, air pollution, etc. Take it easy.

Thanks. I said to the *extremely* supportive husband (who's going with), it'll kind of be a really sad vacation. And I totally have the- nice catching up/holy shit you scare me- kind of family as well.

It's not actually Pittsburg, it's a small town about three hours west called Franklin and it's not even Franklin (this is when it get's scary) it's a strip of farm area called Rockland. *cue banjos*

Although, the way we got our flights worked out... it looks like we may have a whole day in Pittsburg... so while I will be careful, I may also have to go to the Carnegie Mellon library as it is one of the coolest places on earth.

Hugs to you and yours.

Let me know if you need anything... I can even make peanut butter fudge. I wont presume to say it's as good as grandma's, but it can be soothing.
