Don't lose faith. I've worked with these Los Angelenos, and they truly rock'n'roll: http://www.rudeguerrilla.org/index2.html

You are absolutely right... I saw their production of Shopping and Fucking in like 2002(?) - it was a great show. I was balls deep at Second City by that time but I would have loved to have auditioned for them.

I know there is some great theater out there - Actor's Gang is also really good - but sometimes, jesus, it just can get you down.

I know this is easier said than done, but you could send this to her as it's written and get your point across very fairly and eloquently.

Yes, she'd be pissed at you. She'd probably wish cancer on you or something, and then scream about you in your tower.

If she wants to know why you'd say this, the answer is, because the very talented soul of one of your closest is dying.

Then she'd get over it, and maybe work someplace better.

(Yes, I'm just now reading this. I'm now subscribing to lj as a monthly periodical, because I can't be bothered otherwise. And normally I wouldn't be bothered to respond, but I'd want to know, despite the angst.)
