Your post makes me feel like you accomplished more in a single month in the U.K than I did in a year in Japan! Given...the point of being there was to do some of that stuff, it was a class... but still!

What about the people??? Did you meet new friends? Or at least any interesting people?

...and about the Underground... what is "the gap"?

Um, sure, there are all kinds of interesting people there. Most of the classes were all underclassmen, but ours was all graduate students. Some of them were around my age, and some of them were older. One woman even had a daughter my age. They were all pretty nice, though. I didn't really become close with any of them, but they were all mostly fun to hang out with.

"Mind the Gap" is just something that they announce when you're getting on or off the Underground trains - the "gap" is just the space between the platform and the train. Mostly it means "watch your step", I suppose.

Also, thanks for the postcard from Mt. Fuji! Did you guys get my postcard?
