Interesting tidbits about our conservative government

I'm not a fan of the conservative government. I'm not a fan of Stephen Harper and this site has many gems that simply cement my opinion of him. He brings shame to Canada and I sincerely hope he can be removed with minimal fuss.

The best thing about this site? The information has been reported and confirmed in reliable, reputable papers. I love ( Read more... )

Not to pick a fight, but who do you want in power? Harper kept Canada on an even keel during the recession and I have absolute faith that if the Liberals had been in power, we'd be in the same trouble as say Ireland or Greece as a Liberal has never met a penny it didn't want to waste. The NDP are just fucking scary in that there isn't a social/bleeding heart program they don't love. Don't even get me started on the Bloc *shudders ( ... )

No fighting. I don't know who would be better, maybe no one, but the Conservatives have done some pretty crappy things and have some scary views on what is right in the world. Everyone else did too, no question, but I think certain people are better than the parties they represent. Harris fixed up Ontario but did he do it because he's a Conservative or because he's good at his job? Or maybe he's just not a useless dick. That is a viable answer! *L*

I'm not really involved in politics and I admit to not having the most insightful views. I just think that maybe Canada should have a Prime Minister who can tell the difference between India and Native American as well take his hands out of his own pockets long enough to share what we have with programs and countries who need it. Whether there is one in the running, who knows?

I think all the persons running have problems. it comes down to who is less of a money grubbing asshole. Lesser of god knows how many evils *rolls eyes*.

The Liberals keep saying that if they get into power they'll raise taxes. Not to the rich (because they and their friends are rich *snorts*) but to the middle class and working class people. I dunno about you, but I'm already taxed to the max.

The NDP say no tax increases but they also say they'll be doing more for the environment and the poor and I'd like to know how they'll do that without raising taxes to fund it. I'm not a big fan of shredding the military (again) as some of our machinery is even older than I am. A Seaking helicopter requires 20 hours of servicing for every 1 hour of flight time and finding parts for 40+ year old choppers is getting mighty hard.

Definitely not the Liberals - no more taxes please. I was looking at the Green Party and they actually look decent this round. Nice balanced budget plan anyways. Not the usual 'I don't know who to vote for so vote green' thing. NDP - I like Layton but I don't know where the money will come from. It would be so nice if money just grew out of snowflakes!

I don't know what I'll do but I guess I better decide.
