Life is good again! Literally 2 hours after that post. The ipod works again. I just had to rollback all my software to be able to restore it - so no uber-hacking for me anytime soon!

Plus, apparently eircom don't care how much you go over the cap limit, so I suppose I'll be going mad and seeing if I can hit over 30gigs before the end of the month. Or maybe I'll be sensible and download 29 gigs.

for serious i had to send mine back to apple twice because the ipod sucks. monkeys make them, along with all the other i-merchendise, ibooks, imacs, and cheap consumer products that look cool so they jack up the prices at macintosh. MONKEYS I SAY

also often if you send it back they'll send you a new one. at least they did mine, but it may have still been under warrenty.

current ipod still working after 16 months.

Yeah, i sent mine back with what I assumed were perfectly noble claims, but they sent it back and said there was nothing wrong. But at least they did that for free. This time when I send it back I'll probably have to spend €100 on it, but at least it'll work.

A month, Horse? Congratulations! I'm amazed mine lasted so long.

Not any more! Ho ho ho!

Also, Foxconn aren't monkeys. They may be crap at making anything, but I'm quite certain they're people.
