Yeah, that the thing about life, things seem to all happen at once, right when you're in the middle of dealing with a bunch of other things. Be careful, before you know it you'll really be grown up and out of the house and doing things you've only dimly thought about before.
Don't stress too much about choosing a college. Apply to all of them (or at least fill out all the applications as much as you can), and then put it out of your head for awhile. A month or so. Trust me, stewing over it too much won't get you anywhere, and it'll get you there fast. Then come back to it, and do what you know you're supposed to do: pray, fast, think about it, pray some more. You'll end up in the right place in the end. :)
Just a reminder: no college is going to be absolutely perfect, so just keep that in mind when you are looking for the "overwhelmingly right one." Just find the best, that's all (as if that were easy.)
If you want to know what worked for me, I visited the schools other than Martin first and pretty much knew that they were wrong. For me it was about educational stuff: the degree program I was looking for at Union was practically nonexistent, and even though I have since switched what I wanto to do, I still know that Union would have been wrong for me. In your case, if you want to be surrounded by one particular type of people, just be aware that you may suddenly find yourself very annoyed at any lack of variety. Sure, it may not be the most fun living in a city with cows and rednecks, but they offer a wonderful contrast to (and occasional relief from) a place swimming with high brow intellectuals.
