It doesn't make sense that God would create us as personal, interactive, etc. and then not be himself -- this writing seems to implicate he isn't even capable of it -- especially if one believes that the purpose of man is to commune with God.

In some broad sense, I can agree with God being seen in everything, but not in an impersonal way. I see a very personal side of it, however abstract.

Yeah. I mean, I don't know where I stand on it right now. Is he personal yet that is an infinitesimal facet of his being? Is he *just* a personal God (I'm inclined to say no), or is he not personal at all, yet still able to communicate with us in some obscure way?

When you say "it doesn't make sense that God would create us as personal, interactive, and then not be himself," I disagree. I mean, who knows what this God really intended. Maybe we're near the bottom of the evolutionary totem pole in his eyes. Who knows. I think we should be careful about how much we anthropomporphize God.

Though I'm inclined to think there's some sort of communication there.

And also, I guess we have to analyze our vocabulary here. Because the terms "abstract" *could* dilute the meaning of the word "personal" that we use for God.
