Story written for writers30days Round 1

"Right then, where are we? Have we done Easter Island yet?"

He flips through the pages of his own journal, eyes glancing over the notes he's scribbled within it. He imagines River's handwriting is much neater than his own, but when has he ever had time to sit down and write his entries? Most are done while on the run with pen, pencil (or whatever he has to hand), frantic notes scrawled in ungainly writing similar to his running style.

"Errrm, yeees, I've got Easter Island!" He declares with gusto.

"They worshipped you there." River reminds him with the same fondness he holds his own memories of the occasion in. "Have you seen the statues?"

Of course he has, but he makes no comment on it. He's made a rough sketch of one statue in his journal and in his opinion, they got his nose too long and he knows River won't let him live it down if he says so. Instead he replies with a name while keeping his eyes scanning over his notes of Easter Island. "Jim the fish."

It has exactly the reaction he was expecting. "Oh, Jim the fish! How is he?"

He replies with the words written on the page in front of him. "Still building his dam."
