It was conceivable even before that point that Toraji hadn't been the only living sun to exist. After all, the universe was a very, very big place full of mad and impossible things. Just because he was the last of the Time Lords didn't automatically mean that Toraji was the only living sun.
He just wished that thought had made itself heard before now.
It had begun with the occasional breezes beginning to pick up into stronger gusts and then had come the whispers on the wind, which had gradually become louder in his head. It was easy to become disorientated and confused in a desert, but he was already a mad man so it came down to trusting his instincts and they were screaming at him to leave, 'Leaving is good! Leave, leave right now!'
But with Rory struck down by poison and the pair of them stuck in the middle of an unending sea of sand with three suns over their heads, it wasn't exactly easy to do what his instincts were telling him.
Three suns....
It was conceivable that Toraji wasn't the only living sun in the universe and it was also conceivable that it would hold a grudge against humanity and the Time Lord who had once helped them. Grudges tended to spread, even to the most distant corners of the universe.
He had no time to warn Rory (not that he would've heard him anyway) and by the time his companion finally woke, it was already too late.
"Burn....burn with me, Rory...."
