A hypothetical question

Do you think you'll watch (and like) a Horatio-less Hornblower movie? I know Hornblower is about Hornblower, but I want to know, what if Horatio is disposed of instead of Archie? Archieless HH3 traumatized many of us, but do you think you would find Archie as the hero of the movie so interesting that it's worth watching even without the H/A ( Read more... )

Och aye - you can have your Archie solo movie (well, Mr Kennedy is a canon Lieutenant aboard the Renown, after all!) if I can have a James Dillon movie (why oh why didn´t POB bump off Maturin instead? *sobs*)

Oh I love Dillon too! I was so shocked when POB killed him off, and in the first book! Wah! But still, I have so much love for Dr Maturin ;)

[Warning! Don't know if you have read it, but SPOILERS of Hundred Days below!!!]

The one I really didn't want POB to bump off is Diana, though. She's probably my favourite female character :(

I like the boys best as a team, but I would watch "Kennedy: the New Adventures" to see Archie get a chance to play the action hero and interact with the rest of the cast more. It would also be interesting to see how Archie and Mr. Bush's relationship from HH2 would develop without Horatio around, and what Pellew does interacting with a junior officer other than Mr. Golden Boy.

You're definitely right. Of course I love to see the two of them together, but I'd also love it if they let Archie interact more with characters other than Horatio. With Horatio around, there are times when the rest of the cast (esp. Pellew) seem to ignore Archie's existence, and this annoys me a lot. I wouldn't mind a "Kennedy: the New Adventures" at all :)

I'd give it a try because I'm a huge Archie fan but to me the relationship is central and I don't know how long I'd last if it wasn't there.
