As most of you know,
cupcakebean came to Omaha for Fangirl Weekend #2. Here is our tale. ;)
Jess was riding with friends from Indiana to Nebraska, so after a very long and anxious day, I picked her up at about 11pm on Thursday. We were exhausted, (we both worked very early that morning) so after a a quick spoiler, finale and fanfic discussion, we called it a night.
Friday morning came, and after an episode of Bones, we headed out to the Zoo. And just because it's our luck, the weather was really crappy. The day before had been sunny and about 63; Friday was 31 and snowy, of course. But we made the best of it and explored the zoo as best we could. Many of the outside exhibits were closed, but the majority of animals are in indoor exhibits anyway. Many pictures were snapped, and we played the 'Let's Find Bones References' game while we were there.
We also found the rodent version of our beloved B&B. ;)
And just for
labsquint : A Beaver! (But he didn't talk to me. Sad.)
Just a few more pictures -
The weather started to get even worse, so we left in the late afternoon. We headed back to my apartment to change and get ready for dinner, but while I was looking through my camera at the pictures I had taken, I accidentally deleted EVERY picture from the zoo. ALL of them. Talk about a disappointment! Luckily, I was able to use my Google-fu and find a way to recover them online. Crisis averted! :)
We went to dinner at the Olive Garden (our favorite restaurant) then came home to watch some more Bones and an episode of the X-Files. There really is nothing better than watching fantastic TV with someone who is as obsessed dedicated as you are.
On Saturday we had lunch with my friend Jamie and then went to see 'The Bounty Hunter' (which was fabulous, btw). That night, dinner was at the Cheesecake Factory, and then we rounded out the night with more Bones.
And just a few more...
Simon loved her, and he doesn't love anybody but me. I was shocked.
Us at lunch on Saturday. :)
Jess is currently driving back to Indiana as we speak, but we've already made plans for me to visit her in September, for the S6 premiere. It's a shame she lives so far away, but I'm very grateful that we're within driving distance of one another. Phone calls, text messages and IMs are great, but getting to spend time with one of your best friends in person is even better. :)
