Status update

The LiveJournal TrustFlow system is down, and may be so for a while. It is a victim of its own popularity: it made so many requests on LiveJournal's servers for people's friends list data that it endangered the performance and stability of LiveJournal ( Read more... )

sorry about your interruption. it sounds like both of us are gathering clusters of friends data. i've worried about a shut-down since i began, and so i never refreshed (but did hit some dataloss now and then). i'm looking forward to the clean, new protocol. it will launch a revolution in lj visualization and cheesy memes. more cheesy memes! i can't wait!

I can't implement this until LJ implement the data protocol. I keep hearing "soon" from Brad but that's it...

It appears to have worked for all of four days. Now I see in his journal that he's been shut down. Obviously demand for trustmetrics is still high.

I've posted asking him to post an article in this community about it. It's a somewhat limited metric, but worth posting all the same.

Must post myself, about (a) ljfoaf, and (b) lj_research.
