Translating? Not so easy!

Here is my attempt in translating the lyrics of a French pop song into English. I obviously hit way off the mark, but I think this end result is funny enough for it not to matter. The line 'I was already a scent you love' actually sounds quite romantic and I think that must be the closest I got to a clean translation, but the line after it
