Since he's close enough to 1k and it's been a few months since I've done any kind of relationship meme (and I ... completely failed at that one anything goes meme) -

Nanako is, uhm. A difficult one, since a lot of it depends on interpretation of game events! I see Adachi as someone who likes having power over other people - it's like that control he never had before in his own life. So a lot of the game events were driven by his "game," aka his need for power and control. To me, it seems like he tried to push away the consequences - he throws up upon seeing the reporter's body and seeing the reality of ... well, what he did. He was physically revolted by something that he caused! I don't think that was faked, basically. He's affected by the consequences. And I do feel that this happens again when Nanako is taken. Yeah, he threatened "someone close" to Souji, but Adachi is a coward. This is a key point to his character. He controls things from afar and never actually physically does anything until the very end, when he has his Shadow basically taking over. When faced with the actual consequences of his actions (direct or indirect) - particularly with Dojima's reaction - to me, he seemed genuinely

Aaaah, yay! I got to read about your interpretation of game events, too. This made me rather happy. I'll admit that I read your Adachi essay as well, but um. It was nice to have a Nanako slant to it. :|b

Also, regarding the normality business. I have to admit that I floundered a bit as to whether or not that would be... an acceptable reaction? I kind of put it down as childhood naivety with her believing that the pinky swear (I ♥ that scene long time XD ) would keep Adachi from being the bad guy again. So while she may not go running into his arms should there be trouble, in my head, Nanako thinks of Adachi as... a defused threat?

To be totally and completely honest, I think she'd have a stronger and longer lasting negative reaction if a Namatame were to show up, seeing as he was her actual kidnapper. Yeah, she knew about Adachi's crimes from Dojima, Souji, and probably the news, but hearing about something is different from being in the actual situation? Or something. I... I have no idea. :|b

Adachi is actually mostly himself around Amaterasu. Mostly. There's no point in lying or faking niceties with a wolf who can't even talk, so whatever. And he can't really use her, either! So he generally is ">:V" around her. And is constantly surprised that she BOTHERS HIM ANYWAY. WHAT IS THIS. stupid wolf. making me pet you, god. It's slightly cathartic because he can bitch and moan about things to someone who will listen and won't tell him what a horrible person he is. That's always cool.

So really, she annoys him with her NEED FOR ATTENTION when he has no real interest in giving it, but. In the end, right now, dealing with Ammy is a sort of "whatever" thing for him. He may start bitching more around her since she just keeps coming and actually seems to listen. what is that. what.

Mitsuru is ... god. Adachi has ISSUES WITH WOMEN, blah blah see what I said to Ashe. So yeah, uh. She does rub Adachi the wrong way! But he can't fake niceties around her since ... she knows. So he does actively bitch to her face about it. Because he can. It was actually a big thing, though, that he admitted up front who he was and didn't try to lie about it! This has a lot to do with true ending stuff, which I'm going to white out since you haven't finished the game. FINISH THE GAME. [BASICALLY, the true ending has Adachi helping the group somewhat with a letter, where he. actually sounds like he really hopes it helps Souji. And he talks about cleaning up his mess, playing by "this world's rules," and whatnot. He's ... still a dick. SUCH A DICK. But he's shifting a bit, even if it's very slightly. uh. I go back and forth on this a lot, and mostly aim to keep him ambiguous rather than "o adachi iz reformed!1" or "HE'S GOING TO MANIPULATE AND RAPE YOUR FAMILY!"] LYING TO PEOPLE WHO KNOW IS
