This has probably been done to death, but I'm mourning Harry Potter and looking for similar books. But not some of the overly dark ones-- I like HP's optimism and rich characters and world. Any recs would be appreciated!

I haven't read either, because I thought they were about "bad" characters and not as light or fun as HP. I'd be happy to be wrong, though, because I know both are supposed to be good. Thanks for the recs!
