The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray is still one of my absolute favorite covers. And books! For the most part, I've had good luck in picking up books for gorgeous covers, and ending up with great stories to go with them. It's only backfired on me a few times. Like with Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, which was so pretty I had to buy it immediately. And ehhhh. Not so great inside. But still pretty.

Yeah, too many bad reviews on Amazon barred me from reading Wicked Lovely, but I too enjoyed the pretty cover art.

OMFG I LOVE LIBBA BRAY. The third book was my least favorite, but I really really liked that trilogy! I definitely bought the first book because of the cover- who knew that faceless girls in corsets could be so appealing?

Libba Bray is fantastic! I enjoyed the Sweet Far Thing, but yeah, not as much as the first two. But that could just be because it was ending. Sad! Heh, but I definitely agree! There's something appealing about girls being half-turned or something on a cover. I never like the ones with full faces as much. Intriguing.

I definitely bought Blood and Chocolate for the cover, too! Adored it. I'm so glad I didn't watch that movie until after reading the book, or I would have just laughed at it and left it on the shelf.

I love all the Ayn Rand covers!

And ditto to the B&C cover and reading it before the movie, lol. XD

haha The handcuffs on the headboard would make me want to pick this up. I'm definitely going to look this up and write it down.

It's my second most reread book (the first being a YA novel). If you're interested at all in powerplay and lesbian romance (not overly schmoopy, thank god), then it's well forth the read.

Oh wow! I usually don't pick books based on the covers, but this might be the exception (and the fact that you say it's actually good). Definitely going to check it out.

LOL!

And I watched the movie, and you can totally tell they tried to make it way more feminist than the book is. Like, Bella's not always doing the laundry, making food, washing dishes, etc. If she ever does something, it's for a reason. Like, she gets her dad another beer, and the movie makes it seem like she does it so she can butter him up to talk about Edward, lol.

Twilight and Libba Bray, entries in the "don't judge a book by its cover" category. Not at all as good as their pretty covers might lead you to believe, sadly enough.
